Based on the Academy Award-winning DreamWorks Animation motion picture, Shrek The Musical is a Tony Award-winning fairy-tale adventure featuring an entirely original score by Jeanine Tesori (Thoroughly Modern Millie, Caroline, or Change) and a witty, hilarious book by David Lindsay-Abaire. Shrek The Musical brings the beloved characters from the film to life on stage while revealing that beneath this wonderfully funny story lies far more meaning than meets the eye.

“Once upon a time, there lived a little ogre named Shrek…” And so begins the tale of an unlikely hero who embarks on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty Princess who would rather not be rescued. Add a hot-tempered villain, a self-important Gingerbread Man and more than a dozen other fairy-tale misfits, and you have a chaos that only a true hero can possibly set right. Fortunately, there is such a hero – and his name is Shrek.

Shrek The Musical is a treasure trove of theatrical possibilities, featuring spectacular costumes, sets, puppets and even a fire-breathing dragon! Playful, witty and guaranteed to entertain the whole family, Shrek The Musical once again reminds us that true beauty lies in the eye of the beholder.
